SKEANIE Baby and Toddler First/Pre Walker Sandals are hand made from buttery soft leather. These shoes are made of genuine leather and feature a hook and loop closure with an cushioned ankle collar to keep the shoes fitted snugly. 

The size EU18/S has a textured suede sole to for suppleness and grip and the size EU20/M and EU22/L feature a split rubber sole for flexibility and endurance. These shoes feature removable insoles, perfect for cleaning or orthotics.

EU18/Small: Maximum Foot Length of 110mm (approx. 3-9 mths). Leather upper, leather lining and suede sole.
EU20/Medium: Maximum Foot Length of 125mm (approx. 9-15 mths). Leather upper, leather lining and suede & rubber sole
EU22/Large: Maximum Foot Length of 140mm (approx. 12 mths plus). Leather upper, leather lining and suede & rubber sole

About SKEANIE
They say necessity is the mother of invention. And when new mother Natasha Barber had her first child in 2005 and couldn’t find the right kind of soft, quality shoes for her precious baby’s feet, she decided to do something about it – create her own. Her own company, that is. Natasha began to research tirelessly about foot health and development and was initially surprised to discover very little information or education available. It sparked in her the need to delve even deeper. What began as an interest in podiatry, turned into a passion for manufacturing shoes. It resulted in Natasha launching her own company, SKEANIE Shoes for Kids.

A baby’s foot contains more cartilage than bone. Although the structure of the foot develops fully by the first two years, the bones themselves do not fully develop and harden until around the age of 13. The greatest changes in the foot occur in the first three years. Children’s feet endure three times more stress than the average adult foot. A child’s foot sweats twice as much as an adult’s foot!

Applying Leather Conditioner and Renovating Polish will assist with maintaining their softness and colour. SKEANIE Baby and Toddler First/Pre Walker Sandals should never be placed in the washing machine or dryer.

• Ensure your child’s foot is relaxed before measuring.
• Measure towards the end of the day to ensure foot is at it’s largest.
• Place your child’s foot on a piece of paper
• Draw a line at the heel and at the big toe - measure the foot length in mm.
• DO NOT add to your child’s foot length as wriggle room has been factored in.
• Whilst we have tried our best to make our sizing guide as accurate as possible, the sizing of our shoes may vary slightly between designs.

SKEANIE leather shoes and boots are made from soft, comfortable leather and feature thin, flexible rubber and/or suede soles as this is recommend for growing feet. As our shoes are made from soft leather, they should be worn for special occasions or dress shoes. Our shoes are made from soft leather, which will scuff when scrapped along a rough surface.

They do enjoy walking, running and playing; however they do not like getting wet, being used as brakes on your bike or scooter, kicking a footy, climbing trees or walking through mud and dirt.

The best way to keep your SKEANIE footwear looking bright and new is to simply wipe over with a clean damp cloth or leather wipe. Applying Shucare Leather Conditioner and Renovating Polish will assist with maintaining their softness and colour. SKEANIE footwear should never be placed in the washing machine or dryer.

Metallic leathers are created using a hot press technique in which foil is bonded to the leather. Metallics are not as durable as regular leathers, and if the foil is scratched it will expose the leather underneath. There is no process we know of to re-foil shoes, so please tread with care!

Shoe Polish Kits Keep Your Leather Shoes Looking New

First, it’s important to choose the right shoe care products. We recommend using a cleaner and conditioner like our Natural Leather Conditioner & Patent Cleaner. This product is specifically designed for baby shoes and is gentle enough for even the most delicate leather.

To use, simply apply a small amount of cleaner to a clean, dry cloth and rub it into the leather in a circular motion. Once the shoes are clean, apply a little conditioner to another clean, dry cloth and rub it into the leather. This will help to protect the leather and keep it looking its best. 

Once you’ve applied the cleaner and conditioner, you can use a shoe brush to buff the shoes and give them a little extra shine. 

Caring for Metallic Leathers

Metallic leathers are created using a hot press technique in which foil is bonded to the leather. There is no process to re-foil shoes, so please tread with care! To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth. To maintain, regularly buff with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, apply some Renovating Shoe Polish to a soft cloth and wipe evenly over the surface.
